DEMOGRAPHIC AND ECONOMIC PROFILE - WORKING DRAFT
The Hoquiam Comparative Demographic and Economic Profile presents a collection of statistics to
better understand the character of the City. They are presented in relation to a selection of other
communities, to establish context for the measures. The communities chosen for comparison fall into
three categories:
The City of Hoquiam is seeking a strategic economic and community development plan to enhance
the City’s economy through a focused assessment and action plan for the future.
Towards this end,
the City is seeking a planning and a set of products that serve three major functions:
- An overall City economic development strategy
- A community-based Economic Development Plan – an actionable Plan that will serve as a
roadmap and guide to City activities and investments
- Site-specific concepts and an action plan to catalyze and jump start business vitality in key parts of
the City.

The following Tasks describe the proposed approach and products to achieve the desired outcomes
