The Hoquiam Police Explorer Post #23 is an exciting program for the youth of our community.

As an explorer a youth member will experience the law enforcement career by participating in a highly motivated program based around all aspects of the Hoquiam Police Department.

The explorer experience is a beginning look at becoming a police officer or the many other careers within the law enforcement field.

As a uniformed police explorer, the youth member will participate in monthly meetings, police-type training, police station and community service details, ride along with police officers on duty, and participate in many other activities designed to promote leadership and team building skills.

This is a valuable experience for our young people who are going on to college, law enforcement careers or any future endeavor. They can form the basis of a strong resume and a source of strong personal references for young adults entering the job market.
